note (I used Denmark's Constitution day June 5 and not May 5, the day Denmark was free from the Nazis is because of the year the Constitution came first so I used that.

It's true, 5th of June is the Constitution Day, but 4th/5th of May is probably the day most Danes see as the National Day. 4th of May 1945 was the day it went over the illegal radio, that the Allies had freed Denmark from the German Occupation, that's why some people still put candlelights in the windowsill in the evening and went out to burn the blackout curtains, Germany had made Danes use for years. The 5th of May is the day it became official, though, and that is why that is the day people remember.
