who wanted a comic of Satw America and Satw England playing scrabble, I myself never played scrabble so I don't know if your allow to say what you spelled,
anyway both England and America spell herb the same but pronounce it differently for example American don't pronounce the h and the English do, (I honestly heard it pronounce both ways by Americans) and this is England and America arguing over pronunciation(though America having fun with this and even got to trick England into pronouncing it the way he does ha ha)
the 'h'erb and h'erb' represents how they're saying it.

Secondly, it's not mandatory, but requiring the player to say the word they just played could make a good variant rule, particularly for people who play Scrabble in languages other than their native tongue (and they do exist).
